About Matthew Miniero

Born and raised on Long Island, Matthew Miniero found his love for music early on when his mom first taught him guitar with The Beatles’ classic “I Should’ve Known Better.” From there, his parents introduced him to the timeless sounds of the ‘60s and ‘70s, while his sister shared the best of the ‘90s and 2000s.

Eventually, Matthew discovered his own path, diving into a wide range of music and blending it all into his signature acoustic style.  Matthew thrives on variety, translating as many genres as he can onto acoustic guitar—keeping things fresh, fun, and unexpected. Whether it’s Frank Sinatra, Simon & Garfunkel, Michael Jackson, Alice in Chains, Taylor Swift, Billy Joel, Steve Lacy, or Tool, he loves surprising his audiences with songs they never thought they’d hear played that way. Requests are his favorite part of performing, especially when it’s a tune he doesn’t know yet—it’s all part of the joy of discovery.

Though he’s been gigging for years, Matthew feels he’s recently found his true sound, inspired by artists like Nick Drake, Elliott Smith, and Jack Johnson—a chill, soulful acoustic vibe that he brings even to songs you’d never expect in that style.

Beyond the stage, Matthew is studying music therapy while teaching guitar, bass, and vocals at a local guitar store. Sharing his passion with students and watching their excitement grow fuels his dream of helping others through music. For Matthew, music isn’t just about performing—it’s about connection, healing, and making life a little brighter, one song at a time.
